Carol A. Macon, age 76, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday March 28, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on August 26, 1946 in Lincoln Township, Michigan to Howard and Gertrude (Neace) Johnston. She was married on April 23, 1973 in Roscommon, John D. Macon. Carol was a NASCAR fan from the old school way of racing; she still enjoyed watching NASCAR whenever she could. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and loved her miniature schnauzer's. She had a special place in her heart for her dog Sophie. Carol's beloved dog's Princess and Misty will be laid to rest with her.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years; John Macon, children; Douglas (Shannon) Macon, John (Tammy) McTaggart, Dickson Macon, Todd McTaggart and Norman Macon, grandchildren; Doug, Sara, Jeremy, Zachery, Scarlett, Nicholas, Dylan, Greg and Timothy, great grandchildren; Jackson, Korbin, Olivia, April and Cedar, brothers; Howard Johnston, Steve (Susan) Johnston, Craig Johnston and David (Veronica) Johnston, sister; Meryllynn Beck and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services for Carol A. Macon will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday April 3, 2023 from Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel with Rev. William Winter officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Visitation will be held on Monday April 3, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Carol are asked to be directed to the American Lung Association. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
