Cadillac - Sharon Kay McGuire, of McBain formerly of Cadillac and the greater Wexford County Area passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 82.
Sharon was born on March 9, 1943, in Temple, Michigan to Donald and Annabelle (Loomis) Cobleigh. She grew up and attended school in Harrison and became a graduate of the 1961 class. She married Donald Earl McGuire on November 24, 1984, celebrating nearly 20 years together before his passing in 2004.
Sharon worked hard and maintained several jobs over the many years, most notably bartending at the Amvets in Cadillac as well as some time working at Walmart. She enjoyed a good game of bingo, working out in the yard, and visiting Lake Michigan. In earlier years she spent time hustling friends and foes at pool and at times was known to be a little feisty. But there was no doubt Sharon had a soft spot for animals and was always trying to rescue and pet in need, especially dogs. She will be missed.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Janis (Robert) Cassidy of Big Rapids, Rick Bates of Cadillac, Michelle (James) Lovell of Manton, and Summer Shea of Kalkaska; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Guest, Jacob (Julis) Guest, Tara Cassidy, Stacey Baron, Andrea (Drake) Renes, Ashley Baron, Cameron Shea, Xander Shea, and Avery Shriver; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Ken) Gamble and Donna Robinson; two very special friends, Marilyn Garlets and Marjorie Brainard; as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald McGuire; her brother, Glen Cobleigh; and her son, Jeff Bates.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Missaukee Humane Society in Lake City.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.Hitesman-Holdship.com The family is being served by the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home.
