Carol Ann McCanles, age 78 of Butler, Missouri passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and friends after battling cancer for several months. She was born September 10, 1946 to Mathew Salvatore and Marie Jeannie Ozierski Sola in Kansas City, Missouri.
Carol grew up and attended school in her home town of Butler, Missouri. After graduating high school in 1964, she went to work at Special Lens Service in Butler. Carol worked there for 13 years as a quality control inspector. While working there she met Ron McCanles whom she married July 2, 1966 staying together 58 years. When the lens plant closed, Carol went to work for Dr. William Haynie as his bookkeeper for 14 years before retiring.
Carol had a strong and close relationship with her Lord and Savior. She never complained even when confronted with this debilitating disease. Carol looked forward to each Sunday which was set aside for church and Sunday School. She was always prepared and spent lots of time reading her Bible.
Carol loved family get-togethers and taking her turn as host, going on vacation trips and planning each stop, reading and working on jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid fisherman often taking the prize for the most Crappie caught. Carol enjoyed watching TV especially "Little House on the Prairie." Carol had a special place in her heart for children and was always ready to attend her nephews and nieces activities and sports. One of Carol's gifts was to send cards. She had beautiful handwriting. Carol seldom ever forgot to send birthday and anniversary cards to family and friends and other cards when the time was right.
Carol will be so deeply missed by her family and friends. However, we rest assured there is coming a grand reunion when we all will be together again
Carol is survived by her husband, Ron McCanles of the home; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
