Carol Lynn Meggitt, a longtime resident of Lancaster, California, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, after a long illness. She was 72 years old.
Carol was born on August 25, 1952, in Lynwood, California, to loving parents, Robert Edward Dunning and Lucille Agnes Dunning ne McKay. Carol graduated from Palmdale High School in 1970. On October 2, 1971, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Meggitt. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and companionship, sharing 53 wonderful years.
Carol had a zest for life and a creative spirit that shone through in her many passions. She was an avid bowler and found camaraderie and joy as an active member of several bowling leagues. Carol also delighted in hosting and attending tea parties, creating elegant and memorable experiences for her friends and loved ones. Her artistic talents extended to arts and crafts, where she expressed her creativity and brought beauty to the world around her. Beyond her hobbies, Carol had a deep affection for animals, especially her beloved dogsThumper, Bella, and Zoe. They were her constant companions and brought her immense joy and unconditional love throughout the years.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Meggitt; cousins Ross, Sandra, Gail (Paul), and Lorraine; as well as many dear friends who will cherish her memory. Carols warmth, kindness, and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May her memory bring comfort and solace to all who loved her.
