A Memorial Service for Carol A. Meyer, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Rev. Andrew Brewster will officiate the service. Visitation will take place prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carol was born on February 8, 1944, in Minden, Louisiana, to Kathaleen and Odwin Allen, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
A lifelong resident of Shreveport, Carol dedicated her career to education. She taught at Bossier High School as part of the Bossier Parish School Board and later continued to inspire students as a professor at LSU Shreveport. She was a longtime member of the Questers class at the United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Beyond her professional life, Carol found joy in gardening, shopping, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Kathaleen and Odwin Allen, and her cherished dog, Izzy.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rachel Borel and husband Daniel, and their sons Kingston and Nolan Borel; and Stephanie Chapman and husband Heath, and their daughter Lillian "Elle" Chapman.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for family will continue to live on through those she leaves behind.
