William “Bill” Meyer, passed away at his home in Mosinee on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at the age of 85.
He was born on March 8th, 1940, in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, the son of the late Alfred and Hulda (Rasche) Meyer. He married his high school sweetheart, Iris Scheel, on August 8th,1964, at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. She survives.
Bill worked for Superior Coffee Company for over 35 years as a sales and service representative. He traveled throughout Central Wisconsin, putting in long hours and building relationships with various business owners. Both were a tribute to his character. Bill was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Schofield, and gave of his time as an usher, while also playing in the Wausau Interchurch Dartball League for many years. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. Known for his loyalty, Bill was a diehard fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. Often, he could be found cheering them on from his living room recliner. Bill also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Tomahawk. Many summers were spent fishing off the dock at Somo Lake, building sandcastles with his grandchildren, and eating dinner at the Lodge. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He took great pride in providing for his family and jokingly reminiscing about his glory days.
Bill is survived by his wife, Iris and three children: Andy (Michelle) Meyer, Amy (Bruce) Jamroz, and Rick (Melissa) Meyer; 8 grandchildren, Jase (Sarah Larsen) Meyer, Jorie Tomczik, Derek (Kora) Tomczik, Jakson Meyer, Maddie (Zach Ostrowski) Jamroz, Evie Jamroz, and Anna and Elli Meyer; a sister, Paulette Scheel; and a brother, Robert Meyer. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
