Richard "Dick" Daul, 97, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 21, 2026. He was born November 17, 1928, to Frank and Catherine (Bartkoviak) Daul in the town of Green Valley, Wisconsin. He was the oldest of ten children.
His family moved to Halder where he attended St. Roberts school until eighth grade. On September 25, 1952, he married JoElyn Hinner at St. Therese Catholic Church in Schofield and raised his family in Mosinee.
A devout Catholic, he was a fourth degree Grand Knight at St. Paul Church and served six terms as alderman in the second ward on the Mosinee city council. He was employed by the Mosinee Paper Mill from 1947 retiring in 1991, but his passion was masonry, hunting, and especially fishing. He was a self-taught gifted mason that is known for many chimneys, basement and garage floors, and rock grottos, along with building his first home in Kronenwetter and his current home after retirement. He enjoyed numerous hunting trips to South Dakota and many vacations with friends along with the regular trips to Wally's Bar for a cold one! Richard was known for his hard work ethic and was always ready to help anyone fix anything or get a job done.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister, and infant daughter, Jamie.
Richard is survived by his wife of 73 years, JoElyn; daughters, Julie, and Lori (Patrick) Kluz; special grandson, Julian; and sisters, Carolyn, Mary, and Audrey. His family would like to thank Lori and Pat for all of their help in last years, Father Becker and Deacon Kevin, and St. Croix Hospice team.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Father Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the funeral home.
