Carol J. Moyer, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on April 23rd, 2025, at Stonehill Health Center.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28th, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
She was born on June 27th, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin Pauley and Arlene Moes. Carol married Stanley Moyer in 1963 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2015. Carol worked at Woolworth's before dedicating her life to taking care of children in her home for over 30 years. She later volunteered as a foster grandparent at Lincoln School for over ten years. She always had an open heart and an open home. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grandma Shopping."
Carol is survived by four children, David (Julie) Moyer, of Cedar Falls, Julie (Robert) Beyer, of Dubuque, Douglas (Connie) Moyer, of Dubuque, and Linda (Mark) Duve, of Dubuque, seven grandchildren Jacob (Ksenia) Beyer, Taryn (Eric) Hines, Allison (Colby) Brown, Cailee (Justin) Hendricks, Maranda (Zachary) Carter, Mitch (Josie) Duve, and Ethan Moyer, and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Joan Meyer, Tom (Peg) Pauly, and Bob Murphy, and brother-in-law Carl (Carolyn) Moyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, brother Jim Murphy, and brother-in-law Donnie Meyer.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Stonehill Care Center, especially the Memory Care Unit.
