Adams Basin/Spencerport, New York - Carol A. Pickering - October 28, 1938 - June 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Carold A. Pickering. On June 13, she took her final breath, leaving behind a lifetime of love and memories that we will cherish forever. With a quiet strength and a soft-spoken spirit, she touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Carol was born on October 28, 1938, in Spencerport, NY. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She married Richard (Dick) Pickering in 1959. They shared 52 years of love, laughter and devotion. They made their home together in Adams Basin where they raised their two boys, Dennis and Scott. Carol created a home filled with warmth, kindness, laughter and love. She worked as a lunchroom monitor for 15 years for the Brockport Central School District. She and her husband enjoyed many summers vacationing at their cottage in Cape Vincent where they entertained family and friends and provided everlasting memories to many. One of her favorite pastimes in later years was curling up in her chair with her loyal puggle, Sophie, by her side watching their favorite shows together (of course the cooking channel.)
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick) Pickering; son, Scott Pickering; mother, Mildred Webster; and brother, Herbert Post. She leaves behind her cherished children, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sherie Pickering and daughter, Kim (Dave) Hall with whom she was blessed to be reunited with later in life and brought her great peace and joy; her adored grandchildren, Ryan (Cat) Turco, Matthew Pickering and Leeann Pickering (Matt Fornito); her precious great-grandchildren, Noah and Henry Turco; her beloved brother, Robert (MaryLou) Webster; sisters-in-law, Nancy Post and Ellie Pickering, and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol was a woman of remarkable strength, kindness and grace. She had an unforgettable smile which reflected her love, strength and joy – all without saying a word. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched countless lives, and her legacy of love will live on through her children, grandchildren and all who had the pleasure to know her.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care Carol received from Rochester Regional Hospice (Alyssa, Miranda, Jenna and Donna) and Elderwood at Lakeside at Brockport most especially (Kein, Dehlia, Nichole and Sara) for their most respectful care.
A private Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Rochester Regional Health Hospice Care, 330 Monroe Ave., Rochester, NY 14607 or to Elderwood at Lakeside, 170 West Avenue Brockport, NY 14420 or to a charity of your choice.
