Carol Riggin Obituary

Carol Lynn Riggin age 73 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in hospice care on January 22, 2026 in Shakopee, Minnesota. Born on November 19, 1952 Carol grew up in Westminster, Maryland and had wonderful memories there on the farm. She married and lived in Westminster with her husband and daughter before moving to Crisfield, Maryland where she lived the rest of her life until her final days in Minnesota. Carol aka, "Lynn", "Mommy"and "Mom Mom" loved the outdoors and was always active, taking long walks and stubbornly mowing her own grass in blistering summer temperatures even up until a couple years ago. She was equally keen on watching criminal mystery shows or any scary movie that made you jump back and laugh. And she was very competitive which was no better illustrated than her colorful commentary while playing Uno with family, and never shy to celebrate her repeated wins nor to request a coffee and sweet of some kind for her winning payout. She set the example of hard work having worked a variety of managerial positions throughout her entire life and her customers always appreciated her kindness and humor. Carol loved her various cats and dogs thought her life and they were always the beneficiary of being with someone with such a loving heart, all of whom would have to plead guilty to being spoiled. They will all be so happy to reunite in her arms. Carol is lovingly remembered by her family and is survived by her father and mother John and Irene Rhoten her brother Michael, her daughter Lisa (husband Pete) and her two granddaughters, Brianna and Willa. She is preceded in death by her husband Rodney. She will be missed more than words could ever convey, but we believe in our hearts we will see her again someday. A small private ceremony to honor her life will be held in Minnesota.
