Carol Rush Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 5, 2026.
Carol Ann Rush, 73, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on February 28, 2026. She was born on June 6, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Rudolph and Esther (Pluta) Miller. On August 23, 1970 she marred Dale E. Rush who preceded her in death on February 11, 2024. Carol was also preceded in death by her brother Rudy Miller. She is survived by two daughters, Tracy (David) Agostino of South Bend, Indiana, Kimberly Dance of South Bend, Indiana, four grandchildren, Kevin (Sarah) Agostino, Nathan Agostino, Alexis Agostino and Charles Dance, one great child, Evelyn Agostino with a second great granddaughter due any day.

Carol worked for 10 years in the cafeteria at St Joseph High School before beginning a career with the United States Postal Service. She later retired happily in 2012.

Carol found joy in the simple things in life. She loved playing Bingo and bowling on league nights with her mom, spending sunny days out on the lake fishing, and enjoying trips to the casino with Rudy and her dear friend Lisa Brenneman.

Family meant everything to Carol. She kept those she loved wrapped in warmth through the many crocheted, knitted, and quilted treasures she made over the years. Though cooking wasn't her favorite activity, she did her best to keep the tradition of family Sunday dinners alive-gatherings that became cherished memories for everyone.

Christmas was her favorite time of year. She delighted in making the holidays special as the kids grew with fun games, laughter, and plenty of goodies.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made in Carol's name to Food Bank of Northern Indiana or Camp Millhouse.
