Carol Schraeder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Dec. 4, 2025.
Carol Lee (Brittin) Schraeder, 76, of Sunbury, Ohio, passed away on November 29, 2025, at St. Ann's Hospital.
She was born on September 27, 1949, in Albany, New York, to parents Rev. Hazen Brittin and Gretchen Brittin.
On October 8, 1977, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Schraeder, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and together they shared 48 beautiful years of marriage.
Carol is survived by her husband, Bob Schraeder; her daughters, Malinda Ann (Andrew) Leatch, Cassandra Lee (John) Collins, and Amanda Lynn (Justin) Grimm; and her grandchildren Skyler (Alex) Gibbs, Landon Leatch, Aubrey Leatch, Mason Leatch, John Collins, Lucy Collins, and Molly Collins, and Charli Grimm. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Cindy) Brittin, and sister, Nancy (Scott) Graham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Brittin; and her sister, Judy Harding.
Carol worked as a nurse for many years before devoting herself to what she considered her greatest calling, raising her three daughters. She loved singing alto in choir and especially cherished her time in the church choir until her health no longer allowed it. She volunteered with the schools and bands her children were involved in, giving her time as often as she could despite her health challenges.
Her life journey took her to many places, including New York, New Mexico, Germany, and Florida. She enjoyed camping, being in the mountains, and exploring new places. Carol treasured time spent with her family, teaching her daughters photography and sewing, and lovingly making many of their outfits. She adored horses and enjoyed watching three-day eventing.
Her proudest achievement was ensuring that her family and the generations to come, know and love Jesus. She taught her family to view struggles as adventures and to trust Jesus to guide them through.
In lieu of flowers donations in Carols honor may be made to: Stephen and Esther Napier,
Napier's to the Nile. C/O Global Outreach International P.O. Box 1 Tupelo, MS 38802.

Burial will take place at the Air Force Academy at a later date. The family kindly requests that no black be worn, as the service will be a celebration of life.
