Viola Schraeder Obituary
Viola Marie Schraeder, 101, passed away December 28, 2024, at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born on April 28, 1923, in Pfeifer, Kansas, to Andrew and Catherine (Jacobs) Dome. On April 8, 1947, she married Lee Roy Schraeder in LaCrosse, Kansas. He passed on June 2, 2008.
A resident of Great Bend since 2005 coming from Timken, Viola was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Viola was a great cook and seamstress.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Butler from Frisco, Texas, and Becky Soukup and husband Gary of Ellsworth; six grandchildren, Kelli Soukup, Lauren Horn, Jordon Harms, Whitney Parzybok, Nicole Deeds, and Stacey Stump; nine great grandchildren, August, Archer, Clara, Andrew, Dean, Jameson, Christian, Kaden and Addison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two daughters, Leann Fischer and Connie Harms; five brothers, Norbert, Robert F., Ralph, Tony, and Francis Dome; two sisters, Vivian Schraeder and Isabel Fossen; and a son in law, Lawrence Butler.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
