Harold "Keith" Brown, age 88, of Centerburg, passed away 6:22 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born on November 5, 1937, in Knox County, he was the son of the late William H. Brown and Ruie J. (Price) Cheek. United together by God, On March 14, 1958, he married the former Lola Maxine Willis, who survives. Together, they cherished sixty seven wonderful and loving years together.
Keith was a 1955 graduate of Centerburg High School and retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a Mail Carrier. Keith also worked as a self-employed painter, spending many evening's painting until dark after carrying mail for the day. Keith was a Veteran of The United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was stationed at the Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, Alabama.
Keith's faith led him to be a longtime member of the Johnstown Independent Baptist Church in Johnstown, where he and his wife Maxine served the Children's Church for ten years. Keith, having the skill and knowledge to fix just about anything, could be found working on projects around the church, quietly without anyone asking him to do so. In his spare time, Keith enjoyed jigsaws and any kind of puzzles, once putting together a nine thousand piece puzzle of Wedding Feast of Cana, that Maxine still has.
He had a servant's heart of love, his very kind and giving personality became evident as he became a caregiver for Maxine in their later years.
In addition to his loving wife, Maxine, those left to cherish his memory are his children, Warren Brown and Lori (Gary) Nonnemacher; his grandchildren, Kara (Andrew) Annecharico and Erin Nonnemacher and his great-grandchildren, Logan and Audrey Annecharico. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister Lois Marie Keaton and her husband, Harold.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Johnstown Independent Baptist Church, 7397 Johnstown-Alexandria Road, Johnstown, Ohio 43031. Pastor Dan Scarberry will officiate with burial to follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg where Military Honors will be accorded.
Friends may visit with the family, the evening before the service, Thursday, December 4, at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, the day of the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
