Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown with Don Thomas officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be made to Griffith Cemetery or donors choice.
Carol J. Severns was born on Thursday, September 7, 1944 in St. Elmo, IL to Leo C. and Marguarite "Margie" (Cooper) Severns. Carol graduated from Brownstown High School in 1962. She was a member of the Brownstown United Methodist Church where she served as secretary for many years. An active member of the Methodist Women, she held various offices, including president. She was also a member of the Golden Years Club and Woodman of the World. She retired in 2018, after 54 years as a customer service representative for Vandalia Mutual and Willms & Yakel, Vandalia.
Carol was well known in the area and is survived by her cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
