Carol Dawn Sharp passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 in St George, Utah, surrounded by family. She was 87.
She was born on April 22, 1937 in Riverside, California to Hamer and Alice Thornton. She grew up in Colton, California with brothers Wayne and Steve, and sisters Janet and Connie. She graduated from Colton High School in 1955, where she was a majorette.
She married Duane Sharp on May 6, 1955 in Colton, California. Duane was Carol's bus driver in High school. They had 3 children: Kirk, Kevin, and Kristy.
She was a gifted artist and seamstress. She began sewing her own clothing in High School and continued on sewing her entire life. She especially loved making her kids and grandchildren's halloween costumes that won most every costume contest! One of her passions was family history, and she talked about it to everyone who would listen-even at the grocery store or doctor's office.
