Carol Sim, age 74, of Lime Springs, IA passed away on Easter morning (April 9, 2023) at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, IA.
Carol Ann (Adamec) Sim was born September 8, 1948 to Arnold and Esther (Timmerman) Adamec in Cresco, Iowa. She attended Notre Dame High School and graduated with the Class of 1967. Carol was hired by Cresco Union Savings Bank upon graduation where she worked until her retirement.
In 1993, she married Gene Sim. They enjoyed almost thirty years of marriage. Traveling was one of their interests, including trips to Europe, Mexico and the Panama Canal. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and going for rides on the Gator. Both Carol and Gene had a great love for animals. Mowing lawn was not a chore, but a form of enjoyment (especially at their shouse on the Upper Iowa).
Carol is survived by her husband Gene, three stepchildren: Leah (Herllan) Serna, Lori (John) Vine and Greg (Joy) Sim, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her only sibling, Jane (Bob) Carroll and their children: Chalsea (Adam) Lueschow (niece and godchild), Lacy (Chris) Chamberlain (niece), Bobby Joe (Kayla) Carroll (nephew), two great-nieces and five great-nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Esther and her mother and father in-law Edith and Robert Sim.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Lime Springs Community Center in Lime Springs, Iowa.
