Carol Simen Obituary
Flushing
Age 72, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024. Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the chapel of Machpelah Cemetery, 4615 Branch Road, Flint. Leonard Meizlish officiating. Burial in Machpelah Cemetery.
Carol was born September 11, 1951 in Flint, the daughter of Irving and Pearl (Horn) Simen. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School; she then received a Bachelor's in Business Management and Master's in Business from the University of Michigan. She retired from the City of Dearborn as a purchaser; she had also been employed by Mott Community College in the purchasing office. In 1983, Carol and seven other friends started a Thursday night dinner group which continued for 41 years.
Surviving are: her nephew, Patrick and wife Maureen Simen of Oberlin, OH; great nephew, Benjamin Simen of Oberlin, OH; special friends, Ruth and Skip Rosenberg, Pegge and Rick Adams and Brenda and Dennis Poulos. A special thank you to Pam Escue, she was a very devoted friend that cared for all of Carol's needs for the past eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Pearl Simen; brother, Sander Simen. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

I remember you as a teenager, very opinionated, funny, loyal, one of my favorite cousins! I will miss you dearly. I´ll remember all the times we laughed until it hurt. Our shopping spree´s were epic. But most of all your amazing sewing skills. On the night before Aaron was married we were still working on the chuppah. Everyone invited was sent a 6" square to decorate as they wanted. We were sitting on a bed in hotel and you were adding some squares and when you were finished you promptly held up your handy work and realized that you sewed it to your outfit! OMG everyone laughed so hard but none harder than you! And of course Aaron turned out to be a mensch just because you took care of him for 10 days when he was a toddler! Our memory of you IS a blessing. We love you to the moon and back. See you on the other side, I´ll recognize you by that laugh.
