Carol Louise Smith (Kimball}, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, in Pinconning, Michigan. Born on January 28, 1950, in Cadillac, Michigan, Carol was the daughter of Stanley and Thelma Kimball. She grew up surrounded by family and faith, values that would remain central throughout her life.
She was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church in Rhodes, where her strong faith guided her through life's joys and challenges. Carol married the love of her life, Bruce Smith, in Munising, Michigan-a place she held dear and returned to often. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, and deep devotion to their family. She was a proud mother to Shay Dycewicz (Phil} and Sara Maida (Jim Alger}, and cherished every moment spent with them. Carol found immense joy in shopping trips and quality time with her daughters. Her son Justin Smith (Megon} also brought great pride to her heart. Her grandchildren -Tristan and Serenity Dycewicz, and Aubrey, Greyson, and Faith Smith-were the lights of her life.
She delighted in their accomplishments and treasured every hug and smile they shared. Carol had a generous spirit and a heart that always rooted for the underdog. She was known for her caring nature and unwavering support for those around her. Whether tending to her garden or browsing antique shops for hidden treasures, she found beauty in the simple pleasures of life. She also enjoyed visiting casinos for a bit of fun and adventure. The Upper Peninsula held a special place in Carol's heart-not only as the setting of her wedding but as a beloved destination she returned to often with fondness. Her love for nature, scenic drives, and peaceful moments made it one of her favorite retreats.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Bruce; daughters Shay (Phil} Dycewicz and Sara Maida (Jim Alger}; son Justin Smith (Megon}; grandchildren Tristan, Serenity, Aubrey, Greyson, and Faith; sister Debbie Bevis (John}; as well as many extended family members who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Thelma Kimball; brother Stanley Kimball; and sister Bonnie Kimball. A private family service will be held. Carol's legacy is one of compassion, strength, faith, and unconditional love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
Per Carol's wish cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
