Carol Lillian Steen, age 75, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024.
Carol was born on December 17, 1948, in Queens, New York to parents Fred and Lillian (Anderson) Raetzer. She graduated from Martin Van Buren High School. She went on to work as an office assistant for a CPA in addition to working for Avon for many years. She married Damien on January 17, 1976, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and over 48 years of cherished memories.
Carol was known for her welcoming disposition, generosity, and for the warmth and kindness she brought into every room she entered. She was always there to listen, offer advice, or simply share a laugh. The unwavering support and love she showed for her children and grandchildren was unmatched.
She is survived by her loving husband, Damien Steen; Daughter, Valerie (Jermaine) Clark; Son, Michael (Jaime) Steen; Sister, Elaine (James) Yoder; Grandchildren, Jimmy and Kyla Clark, and Juliette Steen; Nephews, Keith and Kevin Yoder; Niece, Krystle Primus, as well as many other loving friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lillian Raetzer.
Carol's warmth, wisdom, and love will forever remain in our hearts. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the memories she created and through the lives of her loved ones. May her memory be a blessing.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on August 26th, 2024 from 5-8pm at 3800 Michigan Ave. Fort Myers FL 33916. There will be an additional celebration of life in New York at a later date.
