Carol Ann Streyle, 63, Scotland, SD passed away surrounded by her husband and children on February 9, 2023, after a long hard battle with multiple health issues at Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
A memorial prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 25 at Goglin Funeral Home in Scotland. Visitation begins at 1 p.m.
Carol Kloucek was born March 1, 1959 in Sioux Falls, SD. Shortly after her birth she was adopted by Clem and MaryAnn (Berndt) Kloucek of rural Scotland. She graduated from Scotland High School in 1977 and graduated from the University of South Dakota, Springfield.
Carol married Dennis Streyle on April 23, 1988, at Zion Lutheran Church in Avon, SD. Carol had several jobs including nurses aid, laundry person at the Tyndall hospital, and daycare provider. The couple moved several times to places including Tripp, SD, Emery, SD, Hoven, SD, and Scotland, SD.
Carol had a love for collecting things like angels and sheep figurines. She enjoyed it when her kids would come to visit and play cards with her, keeping up with what they were all doing and being outside with the sheep. She especially liked cuddling in her recliner with her dogs, Joey and Dakota. Carol had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking sweet treats for her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Becky Winther (Josh), Echo, MN, Dennis Streyle Jr (Kristen Murray) Huron, SD, Heidi Warner (Richard Kludt), Lesterville SD, and Scott Streyle (Emily Christensen), Scotland SD; grandchildren, Chloe Winther, Jace and Tate Murray; sister, Ann Kinney, Hillsboro Beach, FL; brother, Rick Schaefer (Cindy), Hoven, SD; brother-in-law, Tom Van Asselt, Colton SD; brother-in-law, James Streyle, Sioux Falls SD; sister-in-law, Patty Jewells (Jim), Pensacola, FL; nieces and nephews, Melissa Kinney, Austin, Alex, Tanner, and Derek Van Asselt, Cecily Joosten, Chris Schaefer and her dogs, Joey, Dakota, and Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and MaryAnn Kloucek; a sister, Darla Van Asselt; a granddaughter, Carolyn Lori; a brother-in-law, Peter Kinney; sister-in-law, Carol Streyle; in-laws, Ervin and Hulda Streyle and other family and friends.
