Carol (Pearsall) Strimple passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024. She was born March 1, 1944 in Ohio to Harry and Helen Pearsall. She was raised in Champion, OH with older brother Bill and younger sister Donna. After high school she went on to Kent State University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She then married the love of her life, Nelson Strimple in 1967 and shortly after moved to Strongsville, OH. There Nelson and Carol raised their two children Amy and Brett. She retired with Nelson to The Villages, FL to enjoy fun and sun in their later years.
Carol’s passion was to enrich the lives of children. She founded Children’s Corner Nursery School which has been renamed but is still enhancing children’s education today. She taught for many years at Surrarrer Elementary and was a favorite among the students with her loving spirit and ever present smile.
Carol loved helping others. She was president of the Welcome Wagon, spearheaded many church committees, and later went on to volunteer at “My Timers” which provided fun activities to those with memory disease while giving their caregivers a little free time.
Socially Carol was a natural. She loved a party-especially if it included dancing! She and Nelson traveled as much as possible with both friends and family. Cruises, beaches, and casinos were popular choices.
Family meant everything to Carol. She and Nelson cultivated a loving environment for their children and the love grew as spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were added, Carol is preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and cherished husband Nelson. She is loved and will be missed greatly by her children Amy (Jerry) Zeleny, Brett (Becky) Strimple, grandchildren Morgan (John DeSpain) Zeleny, Nelson (Taina) Strimple, Mitchell (Ally) Zeleny, John Strimple, Sam Strimple, great grandchildren Cooper Zeleny and Weston Strimple, and best friend Susann Lerch.
