Carol "Sue" Meile

Carol "Sue" Meile, 92, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Glen Rock, PA. Born on December 3, 1933, in Alger, OH, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Kenneth Aronhalt and Marguerite Ellen Harback Aronhalt. Sue was a long-time member of the Westminster Moose Lodge 1381, where she volunteered her time and enjoyed dancing. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also liked crocheting and baking, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and cooking large family dinners. Sue was predeceased by her son: Richard E. Meile and 7 of her siblings. Surviving her are daughters: Susan Meile Mercer and husband Jesse Garver of Glen Rock, PA, Laura Jo Meile Rupp and husband Clint of Richmond Hill, GA, Fran D. Hanyok and husband Dave of Westminster, MD, grandchildren: William Mercer, Rachel Steiner, Nicole Krug, Stephanie Krug, Chelsie Devilbliss, Troy Meile, Cody Meile, Ashley Turner, Jacob Grove, Dakota Grove, Olivia Rupp, Matthew Schinzel, and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 11, from 3-5 pm, and on Monday, January 12, from 11 am – 12 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 12, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. Interment to follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, MD. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross in Carol's memory.
