Carol Todd Obituary

Carol Leslie Todd, 89, of Sparta, Missouri, passed away on February 28, 2026. Carol was born on September 21, 1936, in Pedelo, Missouri, to Jim and Hester (McHaffie) Todd. He was raised with the values that defined his life: hard work, honesty, and unwavering devotion to family and community.

As a boy, Carol plowed his family’s farm fields with mules, learning early the meaning of responsibility. That work ethic remained with him throughout his life. He dedicated 35 years to the Highway Department, serving as Senior Right of Way Specialist. Through his steady and faithful work, he provided well for his family. Even after his children were grown, he continued working hard, always ensuring those he loved were cared for. He was, in every sense, a devoted provider.

On February 14, 1956, he married the love of his life, Donna. Together they built a partnership that spanned 69 wonderful years, grounded in commitment, perseverance, and shared purpose.

Carol fulfilled his lifelong dream of farming and raising his own herd of cattle. He took great pride in the land and the animals he tended, finding deep satisfaction in honest work done well. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was also an avid gardener and was especially known for his big tomatoes, just another example of how he provided for his family. He also enjoyed bowling and earned numerous trophies through skill and determination.

He gave back to his community by coaching Little League and serving for many years on the Sparta school board. He believed strongly in supporting young people and strengthening the community he called home.

Carol was a straightforward man — you always knew where you stood with him. His word was solid, his expectations were clear, and his loyalty was steadfast. He will be remembered for his strength of character, tireless work ethic, and the steady presence he provided to family and friends throughout his life.

He is survived by his children, Kirk (Cindy) Todd, Katrina (David) Walker, and Kara Cummins; grandchildren, Chris Todd, Ryan (Lindsey) Todd, Amanda (Jeff) Milligan, Kraig (Rochelle) Walker, Kendra (Aleha) Walker, Kiley (Tommy) Woodruff, and Bryce (Taylor) Cummins; great-grandchildren, Kavan, Kenna, and Karlee Walker, Ryker Woodruff, and Quinten and Kalista Milligan; and his sister, Sherry (Jerry) Green.

Carol was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Donna; infant twins; his son-in-law, Curtis Cummins; and his sister and brother-in-law, Milda and Dewey Lassley.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at McHaffie Cemetery in Rogersville, Missouri.
