Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schneider Funeral Home - Hatboro on Mar. 2, 2026.
Robert J. Todd of Hatboro passed away, on February 21, 2026. He would have been 75 years old on April 1. Bob was the beloved husband of Barbara Todd with whom he would have shared their 50th wedding anniversary on May 15. He was born in Philadelphia but moved to Hatboro shortly thereafter.
He was the son of the late Dr. James R. Todd, MD and Lois M. Todd.
After graduating from Hatboro-Horsham High School, Bob enlisted in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in January, 1976. Bob was employed by Hatboro Borough Authority Water Department from 1974 – 1997 and was Superintendent from 1990 – 1997. Aqua America purchased
Hatboro Water in 1997 and Bob worked as an Estimator in the Bryn Mawr office until he retired in 2019.
Bob also was a life member with the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro. He served on the Board of
Directors and Relief Association and worked his way up through the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain and
Deputy Chief. He enjoyed watching the Flyers and Phillies but mostly, spending time with family
especially attending the grandchildren's sporting and musical events. He loved Sunday drives in the
Corvette with his wife, Barbara - adventures that often concluded at a favorite brewpub. During Covid,
Bob and Barbara purchased a camper to spend time camping with their daughter Melissa, son-in-law
Kevin and grandchildren. The adventures experienced, trip after trip, were rewarding and memorable.
Between cherished moments with their northern grandchildren, relaxing Sunday drives, and camping
adventures, Bob and Barbara made time to visit their new granddaughter, Sofia, in Florida. Their most
recent trips were in November for Adrienne's birthday and New Year's Eve. He will always be
remembered for his kindness, generosity and laughter and as a loving husband, father, grandfather and
friend who will be profoundly missed. For the locals, he will be remembered as the guy wearing his
shorts on the coldest of days even when it was snowing.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Bob is survived by two daughters, Melissa Peterman (Kevin) of
Gilbertsville and grandchildren, Lyndsey, Sydney and Carson and Adrienne Todd of Lake City, Florida
and granddaughter Nathalie Sofia. Bob's siblings included sister, Susan Todd (Dale) of Warminster and
brothers Christian of Jenkintown and Bradford (Jennifer) of Willow Grove and nieces and nephews. It
meant so much to Pop Pop (Bob) to learn that his grandson was given his name as a middle name.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay respect to the family on Thursday, April 2, after 11:00am at
Schneider Funeral, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro and attend his Funeral Service at 12:00. His interment will
