Carol Ann Tatum Tolbert passed away September 13, 2025 at the age of 76. She was born November 6, 1948 to the late Moody Alton Tatum and Dorothy Margaret McCord Tatum.
She was preceded in death by husband, Michael E. Tolbert.
Throughout her years, she embraced her role as a homemaker, nurturing her children with a steadfast love that will forever be etched in their hearts. As her children grew, Carol ventured into the workforce, managing several retail stores and an apartment complex, where her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression on all she encountered.
While her career accomplishments were significant, it was in her moments of leisure where Carol truly shined. She found joy in the pages of romance novels, allowing herself to be swept away into worlds of love and adventure. She delighted in the challenge of word searches and crossword puzzles, often seen with a pencil in hand, immersed in the thrill of finding the perfect word or completing the elusive clue. These hobbies brought her not only joy but also served as a testament to her vibrant spirit and unyielding zest for life.
She is survived by her children, Danny (Rhonda) Johnson, Shannon (Michelle) Johnson and Michelle (Jay) McMichael; grandchildren, Blake (Holly) Johnson, Brandon (Lindsey) Johnson, Brittany (Chuck) Messer, Brianna (Cory) Norris, Madison (Breanna) McMichael and Austin (Bayley) McMichael; ten great-grandchildren, brother, James (Penny) Tatum; niece, Megan (Luke) Taylor; one great-niece and one great-nephew.
A celebration of life will be held at Autaugaville Baptist Church on Saturday, September 20, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
