Carol Sue Vargo

Carol Sue Vargo, age 71 of Port Huron Twp., passed away on March 2, 2026, at the Blue Water Hospice Home with her loved ones by her side. She was born on June 30, 1954 in Port Huron to Albert and Louise Falk. She married Roger T. Vargo on September 25, 1971 in Port Huron.

Carol graduated from St. Clair Community College with a registered nurse degree. She was a OBGYN nurse for River District Hospital and was also a visiting nurse / hospice nurse.

Carol was known for her smile and loving her family, family was important to her. Whether catering meals for parties or just making a regular dinner, she loved to cook. Her generosity and giving spirit extended to the community as well. Carol played a memorable role in "reverse Christmas," an act of kindness that earned her the nickname "Christmas Carol".

She went on many family trips to St. Helen, Michigan and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where many memories were made. She spent some of the winter months in Florida with her husband, Roger, where they would enjoy boating and looking for Manatees in the water.

Carol is survived by her husband, Roger T. Vargo Sr., son, Robert (Theresa) Vargo, daughter-in-law, Melissa Vargo, grandchildren; Marverick (Shawna) Lamsa, Samuel Vargo, Dylan Vargo and Addison Vargo, great grandchildren; Carter Bishop, Ivey Lamsa and Willow Lamsa, brothers; Leon (Linda) Falk and Al (Mary) Falk, mother-in-law, Betty J. Vargo, sister-in-law, Ethel "Pinky" Falk and brother-in-law, Ricky Vargo, lifelong friend, Sandy Langolf, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Roger T. Vargo Jr., brother, David Falk, and father in-law, Jack J. Vargo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday – March 13, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home – 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. The visitation will be held on Wednesday – March 11, 2026 from 1:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday – March 12, 2026 from 1:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Friday from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers – memorial contributions can be made to Blue Water Hospice Home.
