Kok Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Cottage GroveCarol Ward, age 87, of South St. Paul passed away peacefully on October 25th, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday, November 7th at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th Street; Newport, MN with a visitation from 10-11 AM and a luncheon following service. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, November 10th at 10:30. Arrival time is 10:15 AM- Assembly Area #6.
Carol was born August 21,1938 to Carl and Virginia (Ackerman) Beaurline in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was united in marriage on October 24, 1959 to James Ward. They moved to South St. Paul, where they raised their family.
Carol attended Humboldt High School and Macalester College, majoring in Education. She taught kindergarten for five years until she decided to stay home raising her family, teaching piano and working as coordinator at Mobile Meals, delivering meals in South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, and Inver Grove Heights.
Carol taught piano for over 50 years teaching well over 1,000 students and was the coordinator of Mobile Meals for over 30 years. After her retirement she continued to work in the office and helped to deliver meals.
Carol was known for her raspberry jam and beautiful garden. She could be found out weeding as soon as the sun came up. She had a generous heart, a positive outlook and did her best to bring beauty and love to all in her corner of the world.
Carol is survived by her children Sue (Bruce) Gravelle, Dan (Joanie) Ward; grandchildren Trent (Hayley) Ward and Jennifer Gravelle; siblings Paul (Nancy) Beaurline and Diane Reid; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim; siblings Carl (Sandy) Beaurline, brother-in-law George Reid and brother-in-law Floyd (Gloria) Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Newport Lutheran Church or Mobile Meals of Northern Dakota County or N.W. Alano.

The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
