Carol A. Wezell, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Visitation will be held at 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes- Miller Road Chapel. Visitation will resume the following day at 10am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12pm on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Carol was born on September 9, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to the late Richard & Margaret Sturgis. She attended St. John Vianney Catholic High School, class of 1966. Carol married the love of her life, James Wezell, in 1966 at Skidway Lake and together they were blessed with their four children. James preceded her in death in 2004.
Carol was employed at Meijer for over 30 years before retiring in 2008. She was an extremely artistic woman and throughout the many years she sewed custom clothes and household items for herself and family. She was known as the family "MacGyver", she frequently improved or created things she seen else-where and would make them her own from scratch. Carol joined the Red Hats and made many friends there. Nothing was more important to Carol than her family, she adored her children but her true pride and joy in life was all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Jim (Kristi) Wezell of Battle Creek, Rich (Karen) Wezell of Corunna, Warren (Jill) Wezell of Williston, ND and Lisa (Jesse) Robertson of Shepherd; 16 grandchildren, Alex, Jennifer, Angie, Shelby, James, Reyanna, Samantha, BJ, Mandi, Brandi, Cheyanne, Stephanie, James Rico, Skylar, Emily, Kady and 15 great-grandchildren. Carol is further survived by many other dear family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wezell; great-grandson, Everest and two siblings.
