Carole Moulton Burnett returned to her Heavenly home where she was surely welcomed with open arms on Friday July 12, 2024 in Murray, Utah. She was born on January 1, 1938 to Hyrum Rufus Moulton and Ivie Lerea Morriss Moulton in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest and their only daughter. She grew up with three wonderful brothers. Hyrum Rufus Moulton Jr., William Dwayne Moulton, and Ronald Dee Moulton. They remained close throughout their entire lives as they each married and had their own children and grandchildren. They celebrated each other's highs and supported through their lows.
She was deeply loved and adored by all who knew her, but especially by her sweetheart Dale Blake Burnett. They met at a dance at the Saltair on the West side of Salt Lake. After Dale returned home from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints they were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1957. In May of 1958 Dale and Carole bought their first home where they would later welcome eight wonderful children to join their family. It was at that house in Murray that they would teach and encourage each of them to become the best version of themselves. Carole held many titles and served in many leadership capacities throughout her life but none of them were as important to her as her role as their mother. She was fiercely loyal to her family. She would do anything for her children including a good chastening just when they needed it most. She and dad were perfect teammates in life. Whether it was building a much-needed addition to their home to accommodate their growing family, to camping trips with friends and family or serving their community, they set an example of how to work together to accomplish great things. They communicated with each other with love and mutual respect, always putting each other's needs above their own. It will always be a legacy and example we are grateful for.
Carole had many tangible talents that we will cherish. She loved to cook and quilt, anyone that has been the recipient of either of these things can attest to the love she put into them. Even when her health began to decline, it was important to her that all of her family had a handmade quilt. So she would wear a mask to protect her lungs as she would sew pieces of fabric together to make a unique quilt to show an expression of her love.
Carole was a devoted disciple of Jesus in the way she lived her testimony. Carole was an example of Christ like love and was a safe space for all. She had no enemies, no guile, and held no judgements. She saw the best in everyone. She may not have been known and loved by the world, but HER world loved, adored, and cherished her. To know her was to love her.
Carole is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Dale. Her mother, father, two brothers Dwayne, Hyrum and several angel great grand babies.
She is survived by one brother Ron, her children Gaelynn, Craig (Lynette), Scott (Lou Ann), Cary (Shelley) Dana, Shauna, Thayn (Alison) Tyler (LeeAnn) 30 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and counting.
After her sweet husband passed away on June 18, 2014 we enjoyed ten more glorious and memorable years with mom. On the last week of her life, she whispered to her son, "I miss your dad". Mom, we love you and know you are happily reunited with him. Until we meet again, we will carry your legacy of love and kindness.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Murray West Stake Center, 5750 S. Nena Way at 11:00 am, with a viewing prior from 9-10:30 a.m. An evening viewing will also be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at the Murray West Stake Center. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

My thoughts are with you! I'll remember Carole and her humble example of kindness, love, and service to all, along with a special devotion to Dale and her family. Gratefully, Carole was one of my Ward Primary teachers years ago. Along with teaching me gospel principles in word and by her example, she patiently taught me crochet skills, which is still a favorite pastime.
Wishing you loving memories to bring you peace and comfort.
