Daniel Robert Turpin was born on August 16, 1971 in St. Mark's hospital in Salt Lake City to Sue Ellen Broders and Robert James Turpin. He has one older brother, Shawn Lawrence Turpin (married to Karen Hall Turpin). Dan was raised in West Valley and attended Kearns High School. He started working at Valley Business Machines at age 16, which put him in the right place at the right time a few years later to meet the love of his life.

Dan met his wife, Krista Kay Adams, in 1992 when they were both working at Valley Fair Mall. He walked over from his post at VBM, introduced himself to the cute girl working at the jewelry counter, and the rest is history. They married on November 3, 1993 and went on to have three wonderful children: Brady Daniel Turpin, Caden Daniel Turpin, and Allie Kay Turpin. They were sealed as a family on November 23, 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dan was an amazing, fun, and devoted father. He was also an amazing father-in-law as Allie married Levi Medardo Gomez and Brady married Addie Louise Barch, and he was looking forward to officiating Caden's marriage to Lauren Mackenzi Voran this coming Monday, September 8.

Dan's favorite activities usually took him outdoors; he loved fishing, golfing, and taking care of his yard and lawn meticulously. Dan was also incredibly service-oriented, taking care of friends, neighbors, and family alike in whatever way he could. He was active in his local church congregations, most recently serving as the bishop of the Stansbury YSA ward.

Nothing was more important to Dan than his family. He's loyal, funny, and so hard working. He's survived by his wife, his children, his parents, his brother, and numerous members of his extended family.
