Carole E. Freed, age 84 of Lima, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 7:04 p.m., in her residence.
She was born February 26, 1941, in Lima to Reed H. & June E. (Terwilliger) Scott who preceded her in death. On December 17, 1960, she married Gary L. Freed who preceded her in death on April 27, 2021.
Carole was a 1959 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She had been employed at the Triplett Corp., Libby's, Superior Metals, then moved to Florida and worked at Pension Investors Corp., from where she retired. She moved back to Lima in 2008. She volunteered at the Council on Aging, enjoyed music, sprint car races and was a connoisseur of mashed potatoes. She was a fan of Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football. Most of all, she loved her family.
Survivors include their daughters, Summur Moor and Shawna (Dwight) Lewis, both of Lima; a grandson, Ryan Parker; and her sisters, Barbara Baker and Debra Henline.
Carole was preceded in death by her son-in law, John Moor, and a brother-in-law, Michael Baker.
Graveside services will begin at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, at Gethsemani Cemetery, with Pastor Todd Cosart officiating. Entombment will immediately follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
