Carole R. Hill, a cherished soul known for her wit and generosity, passed away at the age of 84 on September 29, 2025, in Avon, Ohio. Born on June 11, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, Carole's early years were marked by a profound love for the written word, a passion that would shape her career and hobbies throughout her life.

A proud graduate of the Ohio State University, Carole majored in English, which laid the foundation for her successful career as a medical malpractice underwriter and later, a talented copy editor. Her sharp intellect and keen eye for detail were invaluable in her professional life, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Carole's interests were as diverse as they were rich. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book in hand, lost in the pages of a classic novel or the latest bestseller. Her love for Ohio State football was unmatched, and she never missed a game, cheering on the Buckeyes with fervor and joy. Traveling was another of Carole's passions, and she seized every opportunity to explore new places, immerse herself in different cultures, and create lasting memories. Yet, it was in front of a piece of porcelain or slate, with oil paints at her fingertips, that Carole found a special kind of solace. Her paintings were reflections of her view of the world - vibrant, thoughtful, and full of life.

Those who knew Carole will remember her as intelligent, funny, and exceptionally generous. She had a remarkable ability to light up a room with her humor and to make those around her feel valued and understood. Her laughter was contagious, her storytelling captivating, and her presence a source of comfort and joy to her friends and loved ones.

While Carole's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of kindness. Her influence will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched, and the beauty she brought into the world will be cherished forever.

As we bid farewell to Carole R. Hill, we celebrate a life well-lived - a life filled with purpose, connection, and an unyielding zest for all that it had to offer. Her journey may have come to a close, but the stories of her compassion, her intellect, and her indomitable spirit will resonate for generations to come.

Left to cherish Carole's memory are her beloved children Angella Laverty (Randy) and Fred Hill, III (Lisa Consolo); loving grandchildren Nicolas Firment, Sean Laverty, and Max E. Hill; dear great-grandchildren Raegan and Emersyn Firment; and sister Gail Blakeslee (David).

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years Frederick E. Hill, II; her parents; and her siblings Marilyn Echols, Steve Echols, Greg Echols, and Ernie Echols.

Memorial contributions in Carole's memory, to continue to encourage a love of reading at all ages, are requested to the Avon Lake Public Library https://alpl.org/.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, with a memorial service at 6:00pm at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd, Avon Lake, OH 44012. www.buschcares.com 440-933-3202
