Carole Ann (Cooper) Jensen, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2024. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Karl “Mick” Jensen.
Carole was born on October 22, 1942, in Muskegon, MI to George and Margaret (Rupner) Cooper. As a young child the family moved to Hancock, MN where she graduated from high school in 1960. Carole spent her youth helping in the family-owned restaurant, The Blue Room in Hancock.
Carole met Karl while ice skating at the Hancock Ice Rink at a young age. They both went on to Moorhead State, Moorhead, MN to earn teaching degrees and were married on December 30, 1960.
In the 1960’s, Carole and Karl were hired on staff with Glyndon Schools (later to become Glyndon-Felton School and then Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Schools). Carole taught First Grade for 30 years, retiring in 1996. In 1995, Carole and Karl bought a hobby farm in Lake Park, MN and left the home they built in Glyndon, MN. Karl passed away in 2003 and Carole moved to Moorhead, MN in 2006 where she lived until joining Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, MN, the winter of 2022.
Carole is survived by her two daughters, Karleen (Doug) Mjolsness and Kathy (Kyle) Freier; 9 grandchildren, Emily (Joel) Erickson, Erika (Aaron) Kappes, Ethan (Jessica Hotchkiss) Mjolsness, Matt Freier, Andy Freier, Tina (fiancé Eli Heinrich) Freier, Ana Freier, Chris Freier, and Cienna Freier and 4 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Carole is also survived by a very special nephew and niece Ross Soltis and Raelyn Soltis and many devoted friends along with Peggy Blake, Geri Hanson, and Nancy Cole.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; her parents – George and Margaret Cooper; her sister and brother-in-law – Pam and Terry Soltis, and her in-laws – George and Irene Jensen.
Carole was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness and compassion will be deeply missed by all.
Carole’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Serenity Assisted Living and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the excellent service they provided while she was in their care.
