Publish in a newspaper

Carole Lee Abbott/ Perry (Sid)/ Boyer (Paul) of Roanoke, VA, peacefully went to her heavenly home while her husband, Paul, was by her side on October 8, 2025.
Those who continue to cherish her memory; Paul Boyer, (family Kimberly Banta and Larissa Bowen); her brother, Duane A. Abbott (Marti).
Her children, Steven (Erin) and Allison Perry. The grandchildren, Jordan, Sydney, and Luke (Perry) and Ethan and Katie (Hill).
Carole was the "teacher" to so many students. It started with her family and continued outward to so many "special children" in this world.
She had a Masters in Education and used that for more than 30 years. She was very patient with her students no matter how many times she "repeated" herself.
She was affectionately known as "Cake Lady." She used grandma's recipe and everyone enjoyed every bite. She made so many occasions "a special event."
She volunteered her time, for 27 years, to the Greater Greensboro Open. It was some of her proudest moments, aside from the moments she had with her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Carilion Hospice, 1615 Franklin Rd SW Roanoke, VA 24016. Services will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11 am at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. (540)366-0707.
