Caroleen Sue Lawson, known as Susie, was sent to her eternal home on Monday, June 2, 2025. She was 72 years old and was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 14, 1953. She was well loved by everyone who knew her and she loved her family with all of her heart. Susie had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and play the piano & keyboard in church all of her life. She lived her life as a devout Christian serving the Lord and was a member of the Upper Room in New Tazewell, TN.
Susie had a kind soul, always willing to help others and she loved to make people laugh. She is survived by her husband, Ernest "Bug" Lawson, her daughter Michele "Nikki" Bass (husband Marty), her step daughter Becky Maddox (husband Jeff), her brother Leonard Langford (wife Maria), her sister Linda Hensley (husband Mark), her grandchildren Haley Bartley (husband Noah), Jordan Keck (girlfriend Mariah Hensley), great grandchildren Asher & Killian Keck and Lucy Bartley plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Leonard and Dorothy Langford, and her son, Charles "Chuck" Hood.
Friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Susie at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home located at 1106 Hwy 33 South, New Tazewell, TN on Wednesday, June 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with the service to follow. The burial will be at the Middlesboro Cemetery on Thursday, June 5th.
