Glenda Eldean Hensley Lawson, aged 98, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Born on April 22, 1927, in Mullinville, Kansas, Glenda's life was a testament to her enduring kindness, her unwavering faith, and her deep love for her family.
Glenda grew up under the loving guidance of her parents, Elmer Lenard Hensley and Hazel Ruby Hensley, and alongside her four sisters. She found her soulmate in Herman H. Lawson, and they married on May 18, 1944. Together they built a life filled with joy and shared purpose until his passing.
Glenda's legacy continues through her devoted son Darrell Lawson and his wife Jorene of Weatherford, Texas. She was a beacon of love and wisdom for her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members, will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Glenda's commitment to her community was evident in her seven years of dedicated service at the Andrews Independent School District cafeteria, where she not only nourished the bodies of young learners but also cultivated a garden of friendships that enriched her life. Her colleagues became lifelong companions.
Faith played a central role in Glenda's journey. A devout Christian, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Andrews for fifty years. Her relationship with God was the cornerstone upon which she built her life, providing her with strength and serenity through the trials and triumphs.
In her leisure time, Glenda was an artist with a crochet hook, creating beautiful keepsakes that she generously shared with family and friends. Her passion for gardening allowed her to spend cherished time outdoors, nurturing the earth and enjoying the simple pleasures of nature. Above all, Glenda's favorite pastime was being surrounded by her family, where laughter and love were ever-present.
Glenda's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of faith, family, and friendship. As she reunites with her beloved husband Herman Lawson, daughter Vana Rhea Tidwell, parents Elmer and Hazel Hensley, and four sisters in eternal peace.
Those who knew her will remember her warm smile, her gentle spirit, and the profound impact she had on their lives.
A graveside service will be held on October 15, 2025, at one o'clock in the afternoon at Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
