Caroline (Sabol) Belensky, beloved mother to three children, 86, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on October 19, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Caroline was born in Edwardsville, PA in 1939 to George and Elizabeth (Ohrin) Sabol. The daughter of a coal miner, she was proud of her Carpatho-Rusyn heritage and devoted to her Byzantine Catholic faith. She had a great zest for learning and exploring the greater world.

Caroline devoted much of her time to various hobbies and passions, including gardening, collecting glassware, dancing, cooking Slovak food and traveling. Her travels with her husband Joseph took her all over the United States, in particular to the beloved Southwest, and to Slovakia.

She will be remembered for her kindness, strong opinions, story-telling, love of Western movies and appreciation of Native American culture.

Caroline was predeceased by her parents and brother George. She is survived by her husband Joseph of 64 years; daughter Beth Ann Bowen and son-in-law Carleton Bowen; grandson Christopher and great-grandchildren Alexis and Connor; grandson Matthew; son Brian; daughter Brenda Lee and son-in-law John Lee; and her niece Emily Sabol.
