Caroline B. Gunter, age 95, of Litchfield, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield with Pastor Gale Reitan officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour before the service at church on Saturday.  Interment will be held in Ripley Cemetery.        

Caroline Bertha Gunter was born on January 17, 1910, in Greenleaf Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Amelia Lenhardt Shoultz.  She was united in marriage to Delmer Gunter on December 8, 1927 in Minneapolis.  Together they farmed in Meeker County and moved to Minneapolis for a few years before moving back to Litchfield.  Caroline was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.  She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and homemaker.  She loved to play cards and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Caroline is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws Dale and Katie Gunter, Dick and Bunny Gunter, Tom and Sherry Gunter; daughter and son-in-law Lucy and Tom Kern; brother and sister-in-law David and Clara Shoultz; sister Pauline Henrickson; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Delmer; son Jesse; stillborn daughter; brothers and sisters Eleanor, John, Harold, William, Marie and Henry.
