Caroline (Carrie) Kaplan, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 22, 2025 at her residence. Caroline was born on October 20, 1964 in Port Huron, MI to Kipton and Martha (Kiessling) Kaplan. She graduated from South Bend Clay High School ('82), Indiana University School of Business - Bloomington ('86) and Loyola Law School - Chicago ('88). She was a pianist and violinist, loved all of the arts, an avid traveler, a fine dining enthusiast, celebrated with high teas, and excelled at debate and forensics. She is survived by her twins, daughter Maxine Rose Katz, son, Tommy Carl Katz, three sisters Corinne Kaplan, Catherine Kaplan Loew, and Carlene Kaplan (Jack) Jonas, and two brothers Kevin Edward Kaplan (Debra) and Kipton Kaplan (Jill) Jr. and her childhood BFF Melissa (Missy) Taelman and family. Affectionally known as "Aunt Buppy" to a multitude of nephews and nieces, with whom she shared her passion for everything Chicago and Jewish heritage. Upon her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated in her name, benefiting special special needs children, where her beloved son resides, at the Misericordia Home, 6300 N. Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660.

Caroline was ALWAYS the light of the room!!
She never met a stranger and would help out ANY one in need! I will miss her coming in and asking for the " Meg Ryan" or "Lisa Rena" haircut!
