Caroline Smelko Obituary

Caroline C. Smelko, 83, of Reynoldsville, died Saturday afternoon, April 1, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital following an illness.
Born on July 18, 1939, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Milliron Allison.
She was a 1957 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and a member of Anita Assembly of God.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Sheetz.
She and her brother, Richard, mowed and cared for Mt. Olive Cemetery, she honored the veterans in the cemetery by ensuring the flags were placed on each grave. Reading was her favored pastime.
Those surviving are her daughters, Deborah (Gene) Dutton and Jacqueline (Jeff) Hancock; her brother, Robert (Linda) Allison; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur and Richard Allison, and sisters Elizabeth Wyant, Gloria Cybulski and Doris Allison.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Smelko.
There will be no services held at this time.
