Caroline S. Tuttle, 94, of Quakertown and formerly of Long Island, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Belle Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on January 28, 1930, in Huntington, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Lenora R. (Fosdick) Smith.
Following her formal education, Caroline went on to marry Kenneth O. Tuttle (also of Long Island, NY) to whom she was wed for fifty-eight years, until his passing in 2008. Caroline was a stay-at-home mom until her children finished schooling. She then took a job with Milton-Roy on their assembly line.
Outside of work, she found joy in crafts, tatting lace, knitting, crocheting, making Halloween costumes, and genealogy. She would give the countless love-filled, hand-made gifts to her children, grandchildren, her grandchildren's boyfriends and girlfriends, friends, neighbors, and sometimes even acquaintances. Many of Caroline's hand-made items are still cherished today by recipients.
She was a member of the Locust Valley Chapel where she was very active and tended to the gardens.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Fosdick Smith and Thomas Smith, Jr.
Caroline will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Melissa Stark (Herbert) and Sherry Lucas (Richard); sons: Jeffery Tuttle (Denise) and Joel Tuttle (Vanita); grandchildren: Jeffery, Jr., Zachary, and Kurt Tuttle; Richard, Jr., Kenneth and Drew Lucas; Danielle and Bradley Stark; and Austin, Luke, and Emily Tuttle; nineteen great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 6:00pm, until the time of the funeral service at 7:00pm, at the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 821 West Broad Street, Quakertown, PA 18951.
Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park, Long Island.
