In Loving Memory
Carolyn J. Blunt
June 15, 1947 – May 16, 2025
MEXICO, NY- Carolyn J. Blunt, 77 of Mexico, NY; passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 16, 2025. Carolyn was born on June 15, 1947, to John and Dorothy (Burdick) Buddie. Carolyn was the Owner and Operator of the Salmon Country Marina for 50 years.
On September 24, 1966, Carolyn married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Blunt, beginning a beautiful life together raising their children and later, spending time with their grandchildren. Carolyn treasured time with her children and grandchildren and took great delight attending as many of their events as she could. She enjoyed casino trips with her daughter Lorie. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved sisters. For 50 years, Carolyn and Bob co-owned and operated the successful Salmon Country Marina and Campgrounds. Carolyn was a warm and welcoming presence at the marina, greeting every visitor with a smile. To her, the boaters, fishermen, and campers were more than customers-they were part of her extended family.
Carolyn was pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Nancy, and her brother-in-law Larry King. She and Bob were proud parents to Lorie (Jim) Gates and Jim (Julia) Blunt and loving grandparents to Emily, Evan, Jacob and Ella. She is also survived by her sisters, Jackolyn Bond and Debora Cash, brothers and sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday May 22, 2025, in Mexico Village Cemetery. Relatives and Friends are invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue Mexico, NY.
