Carolyn Boykin Obituary

Carolyn Blackmon Boykin

September 17, 1951 - July 30, 2025

Huntersville, North Carolina - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn Blackmon Boykin, 73, most recently of Huntersville, North Carolina but formerly of Florida and South Carolina. Carol passed on July 30, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her strength and resilience inspire us all.

Born on September 17, 1951, in Orangeburg, S.C., Carol lived a life marked by purpose, passion, and unwavering service to others. A lifelong advocate for environmental preservation, she worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the planet.

Carol was also a devoted supporter of aging populations spending her time professionally in various leadership roles championing programs that promoted independence, dignity, and holistic care for older adults, always driven by a belief in equal opportunity for all. Her strong passion for politics and social justice ran deep. She was a fearless advocate for gender equality, racial equity, and the rights of marginalized communities. Her strong voice reflected her lifelong commitment to supporting those who could not do for themselves.

Prior to her recent move to N,C., Carol found renewed joy in her home in Florida, where she embraced the sunshine, slower pace, and fresh chapter of life. She also found deep spiritual comfort and connection through her home church of St. Alfred's Episcopal Church in Palm Harbor, Florida, which became a beloved part of her life and source of strength and community. As a faithful Daughter of the King, she lived out her faith through prayer and service.

She is survived by her daughter, Vi Boykin Tsotsos (Nick) and son, Trenholm Boykin; grandsons, Christopher Boykin and Ashton Boykin, and granddaughter, Elin Tsotsos; sister, Mary Francis Blackmon Miller; brother in law, Mike Miller; niece, Katie Miller Speakman; nephew, Eric Miller; and many friends who loved her dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11am at St. Alfred's Episcopal Church in Palm Harbor, Florida. Additional details will be shared with friends and family.

Carol will be remembered for her integrity, compassion, sharp intellect, quick wit and unwavering belief in doing what is right. She inspired all who knew her with her courage and kindness. We find peace knowing she is now reunited with cherished family and dear friends who passed before her and is surely being smothered with kisses from her faithful pups Camden and CiCi who were patiently waiting for her at the rainbow bridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's honor to National Ovarian Cancer Coalition - Donate Ovarian Cancer - ovarian.org or a social justice organization of your choice.

Carolina Cremation is honored to serve the Boykin family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
