A memorial service for Carolyn Ailene Bryant, longtime resident of Cedar Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at K.L Brown Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with her niece, Melita Bryant Childs officiating. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Carolyn's life.

Carolyn passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Bryant, and her parents, Robert "Bob" and N. Marie Barnes of Hammon, Oklahoma.

Carolyn was a beloved member of the Cedar Springs community for over 55 years and an active member of Union Methodist Church of Wellington, Alabama. With a passion for helping others feel beautiful, she pursued her dream of becoming a hairstylist and proudly served her community for many years.

Carolyn had many gifts and talents. She was exceptional at quilting, painting, sewing, cooking, and canning. Her award-winning quilts, crafted with care and creativity, were cherished gifts to friends and family.

She is survived by her son, James B. Homesley, his wife, Hope; grandchildren, Liam Homesley and Xander Homesley; sisters, Bobbie Sue Walker, Myrna Faye Mercer, and Aseneth Jan Smimmo; her brother, L. Keith Barnes; a special nephew, John Barnes; and numerous other nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and dedication to her family and community.
