Carolyn Ann (Gibeau) Congleton, A Life of Faith, Service, and Love
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann
(Gibeau) Congleton on March 15, 2025, at the age of 88. She passed peacefully,
surrounded by the love of her family, and is now in the embrace of our Lord. A devoted
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, veteran, and woman of unwavering faith, she
leaves a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will endure for generations.
Born on April 10, 1936, in Plattsburgh, NY, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Ruth
and Raymond Gibeau, who preceded her in death. She was also reunited in Heaven
with her beloved husband, Howard Congleton, with whom she shared 64 years of love
and devotion.
A proud United States Air Force veteran, Carolyn dedicated her early years to
serving her country with honor and integrity. Her strong work ethic carried over into her
civilian career, where her priority was her family. She also held roles in the insurance
industry and local public school administration, always striving to make a positive
impact on those she served.
Above all, Carolyn was a woman of deep and abiding faith. A devout Roman Catholic,
she found great joy and peace in her relationship with God, living out her beliefs through
acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion. She was an active member of various
parishes, where she worshipped faithfully and embodied the teachings of Christ in her
daily life.
She was the proud and loving mother of Kim Congleton, Keith Congleton, and Kyle
Congleton and Kara Kaluyu, grandmother of 13 grandchildren, and great-grandmother
of six great-grandchildren, each of whom was blessed by her unconditional love,
wisdom, and warmth. Her greatest joy was found in the presence of her family,
celebrating life's milestones, offering gentle guidance, and creating cherished memories
that will live on forever.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort knowing that Carolyn has
found peace in the arms of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and selfless love
will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 12 p.m., followed by
interment at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather in prayer and
remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, reflecting her lifelong commitment to faith and service.
"Well done, good and faithful servant Enter into the joy of your master." – Matthew 25:23
May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in eternal peace.
