Carolyn Janiece “Jan” Conner, 90, of Zionsville, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Independence Village West in Zionsville. She was born in Clinton County, Sugar Creek Township, on July 28, 1935, to Roy and Dora Alice (Davis) Walker.
Jan was a graduate of Sugar Creek High School, class of 1953. She worked for People’s Life Insurance Company following graduation for two years and then went to work for Detroit Diesel Allison Division in Indianapolis where she retired after 30 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Cape Coral, Florida. Jan enjoyed doing word search puzzles, ceramics, playing the piano and organ, bowling, traveling with US Power Squad, and was a huge Purdue fan.
Jan married Donald M. Cripe September 4, 1955 and they were later divorced. Jan then married Paul W. Stultz, Sr. on March 25, 1967. Upon their retirement from Allison Gas Turbine Division in early 1986, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida. Paul preceded her in death July 25, 1995. She married Carl F. Conner on February 21, 2004. He preceded her in passing on October 27, 2020.
Jan is survived by two stepsons, Richard Lee Stultz and Paul W. Stultz, Jr.; step-grandchildren, Shannon Bodell Klapperic and Mindy Bodell; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Carl, Robert and Dorsal; and five sisters, Mary Bowman, Wilma Nolte, Elma Gallichan, Roberta Keeling and Orpha Routh.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10am until the time of the service at 11am, at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Gary Walker will officiate. A private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin. Memorial contributions may be made in Jan’s honor to MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Alzheimer’s Association.
