Carolyn Ann Hackbart, age 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2025. Caring, creative, and feisty, Carolyn was a wife, mother, and school nurse, but her favorite role was grandmother. Born November 11,1941, to Orville Hickok and Ruth (Jensen) Hickok in Forest City, Iowa, she grew up in the farming community of Buffalo Center, Iowa.
She married Dennis Hackbart on May 12, 1963 and enjoyed over 61 years together. They raised two children together. Passionate about her Arkansas Razorbacks and Chicago Cubs, she enjoyed watching Westerns, playing cards and having an occasional glass of wine. In her earlier years, she loved volunteering for the Democratic Party of Nebraska, decorating cakes, serving on numerous committees for her church and children’s schools, and tent camping around the country. She loved her family more than anything and had a big heart.
Carol is survived by her husband Dennis; her children Pam (Rob) Dean of Chicago,IL and Mike (Sharon) Hackbart of Little Rock, AR; and her grandchildren Patrick and Benjamin from Chicago, IL. She is also further survived by her brother Jerry Hickok of Urbandale, IA.
A celebration of life service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday, March 24. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor to Christ Lutheran Church, Little Rock, AR.
