Carolyn Sue Hudson, age 78, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on October 15, 2025, at Westminister Village, following complications from Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Born on November 2, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, Carolyn was the daughter of Dale and Ruth Mercer. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1964 and subsequently attended St. Luke's Nursing School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After earning her Registered Nurse qualification in 1967, Carolyn began her professional career at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. On June 8, 1968, she married Larry Hudson, who survives her. They had two children, Matthew and Lisa, as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In 1976, Carolyn and her family relocated to West Lafayette, where she served for 11 years as a part-time school nurse at Cumberland Grade School. Through her gentle care and compassion for students and colleagues, she embodied the love of Christ in her daily work. Carolyn's faith was central to her life-she and Larry were deeply involved in Covenant Church, sharing encouragement and kindness with all. She also volunteered at Matrix LifeCare Center (now Bravely Women's Health), supporting mothers in difficult circumstances and extending hope, reflecting her commitment to serve both God and her community. She will be deeply missed for her unwavering love as a mother, and for her warmth and devotion as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Carolyn is also survived by her older brother, Tom, his wife Dixie, and their children, Shelly and Shawn.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm (Eastern Time) at Covenant Church in West Lafayette, IN on Saturday, November 1, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Covenant Church or Bravely Women's Health.
