Carolyn Louise Hutchinson, née Stammely
April 18, 1946 – January 27, 2025
Fairmont, WV – Carolyn Louise Hutchinson, née Stammely, age 78, fell asleep in death at Conchetta's Home Care after a long bout with Alzheimer's disease. Carolyn is secure in God's memory and has the wonderful hope of being resurrected to life here on earth to experience the blessings associated with the rule of Jehovah's Kingdom. (Ps 37:29)
Carolyn was raised in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Stammely and received her pre-college education there. Carolyn continued her education at Mt. Aloysius and Indiana (IUP) Universities.
Carolyn was both an accomplished artist and an enthusiastic teacher, so it is no surprise she taught art in the Johnstown School System for several years prior to moving to Fairmont, WV. After the move to Fairmont, Carolyn continued to teach art at a major art supply center. The Hutchinson home is full of art treasures created by Carolyn over the years. After Carolyn's health deteriorated to the point where she could no longer create works of art, her large library of art books and store of art supplies were donated to "struggling artists" in West Virginia and Tennessee.
Carolyn also spent 28 years gathering employment statistics for the US Government throughout North Central West Virginia. Carolyn retired from the US Department of Commerce.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother Roy Stammely of Johnstown.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas, of Fairmont, their son, Jacob (wife, Brandy) of Fairmont and Jacob and Brandy's child Abby. Carolyn is also survived by her sister Susan Clawson (husband, Ron) of South Carolina.
Family and friends can gather to remember Carolyn at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Wednesday January 29th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and then Thursday January 30th from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. Pastor George Shumaker will be officiating, and a burial will follow at Clermont Cemetery.

My family and I was invited to Carolyn home. Her oldest son went to school with our oldest son. Over the years we haven´t seen her. The last time I saw Carolyn her husband Tom was at the Kingdom Hall. Jacob you and your family have our deepest sympathy.
